Self-Care in Sayulita

If you're looking for a quiet safe place to unwind that won't break the bank look no further than Sayulita. A surfer beach town in Jalisco Mexico, just 45 minutes from the Puerto Vallarta Airport.

Sayulita is very condensed so you'll be able to experience the full town in a short amount of days. Here is your quick guide to my picks in Sayulita.

STAY

Airbnb is probably the way to go in Sayulita. There are honestly so many cute ones to choose from at a great price.

Here are my Top 5

Casa Chango: a quick walk to the beach and into the town. Tucked away just enough to not be super loud in the evening. Private Terrace was my favorite. The airbnb hosts, help you w/ anything you need. Wifi was great if you need to get some work done.

A Day in Sayulita

DO

The Beach -of course! You can pay for a lounge chair about 150-200 pesos. Lots of snacks, seafood and drinks to buy from roaming vendors while here.

Playa Los Muertos - smaller, quieter beach with generally more calm waters for swimming. Follow the road past Villa Amor and over the small hill and past the graveyard to the ominously named Playa del Muertos (Beach of the Dead). Snacks and drinks are sold here as well but not as many as the main beach.

Surfing- Several companies offering surf lessons, you can find along the beach.

Boat Tours to Marietta Island: Dumay & Maximiliano Boat's plascenciacarrillo@hotmail.com

Monkey Mountain: A sunrise hike with (airbnb experiences) observe magnificent views of Bahia de Banderas Bay, Puerto Vallarta, Sayulita, San Pancho, Islas Marietas and many more.

Delfines: One of the main streets and infamous colorful flags photo op

EAT & DRINK

La Rustica Wood Fired Pizzas- I know, Itallian in Mexico?! but it wont disappoint. Come for Dinner.

Pollos Yolanda: Please try this place for lunch. Bomb chicken with side of rice, a salad and tortilla at a great price. Her salsa here is insane!

ChocoBanana- Banana bread and coffee

El Itacate- try the Gobernador taco :)

Casa Gourmet- Pastries and strawberry tarts *heart eyes*

Tacos El Ivan- Tacos al pastor w/ finely chopped pinapple. Stays open til 3 am. The hottest Hot sauce (orange in color) is so fire!

El Conejo Comida + Tequila- Taco Tuesday here is bomb. Interesting tacos, great place for Dinner.

Alquimista- Chill spot for breakfast. Juices, coffee, smoothies

Barracuda Sayulita- seafood and drinks were yummy. Let down with their "Mission" tortilla strips. Better for lunch than for dinner.

Bar Don Pato- Thursday Night's for Salsa. Fun Locals spots. Other days its different live music

Cocos Beach Club Sayulita - Head there Friday Night. Get there after 11pm for dancing and drinks. Sometimes Saturdays are good too.

Yambak Bar- Cool bar to pregame before going out to Cocos. Everything is 2 pesos
